It’s all systems go since the new Fareham Community Hospital in Brook Lane, Sarisbury opened the doors to its first patients on May 24.
“It is really exciting that this hospital has now opened its doors to patients,” said Inger Hebden, director of capital planning for NHS Hampshire. “It has taken three years to complete from the initial architects drawings to the last bit of equipment being moved in and I am delighted that it is now ready to provide valuable NHS services to local residents.”
Current services from around the local area moved into the modern, purpose-built facility including outpatient services, physiotherapy services, a community midwifery team and adult speech and language therapies.
The new, single floor hospital is light and airy and the departments have been colour themed so patients can easily find their way around. There is also ample parking for cars, motorcycles and bicycles, with free parking for the first three hours. FCH Travel Plan (6.28 MB)
